Save A Horse....

Save A Horse From Slaughter
What can you do to help keep horses from going to slaughter? You might be surprised to know that there are several things you can easily do that will secure a good future for horses and save lives.

First of all, invest in the horses you own. If you have a horse that is untrained, set aside the time or money to improve its value. It is a fact that a well-trained horse can find a loving home to live out its life in comfort much easier than a horse that has had no training. Ask yourself what would happen to your horses if you were gone. This time of year is perfect for sending a horse to the trainer, and you never know what a difference it may make in that horse's life.

How can you help horses that are not in your possession from being starved, neglected, or slaughter-bound? Consider sharing your own wealth of horse knowledge with younger riders who want to learn about horses. Any encouragement and advice you can give to a less experienced horse lover will benefit the horses in the long run. There are far too many uneducated and ill-equipped horse owners who are buying horses without the proper experience to train or care for them, resulting in neglect, abuse, and sometimes slaughter. You can help the problem by being a mentor and offering your instruction and advice. Take in a horse crazy teenager to trade barn chores for riding and learning. By teaching just one person the right way to care for a horse, you will pass on the knowledge to the next generation and ensure good futures for many horses to come.

Another easy way to share your knowledge and become an educator for the horse's sake is to join horse forums like ours and offer advice to those who need it. We should all do our part to enrich the lives of horses. It isn't out of reach. Saving a horse might be right at your fingertips. Join our Forum today!
