True Giving

Filed under: buying a horse — admin @ 8:58 pm

I found this story on a friend’s Facebook wall and thought I’d share it here. She claimed it was a true story, and while we don’t know who the author is, it’s definitely worth reading.

A man was selling his horse to make ends meet. Dead broke and gentle. In this economy, he was only asking $700. A woman came to look at it with her Downs Syndrome daughter. The horse and the girl clicked instantly. They visited awhile and talked about the price a little, and went home. The following day the girl asked to go see the horse again. The mother, not knowing the child had broken into her piggy bank and collected all her savings, brought her daughter back again to see the horse.

The child carefully counted out $700 dollars and gave it to the man for the purchase of “her” horse. The man took the money and made arrangements to get the horse to the girl’s home.

The man, not saying a word, accepted the girl’s full payment. In her mind, she paid him $700. In reality, it was $7.00.

May God forever bless this man…who was willing to give and made a young girl’s dream come true.
