hi Everyone, My name is Sally, but please call me Stablegirl! I became a
new mom to Milan when he was four months old and just weaned,so of
course I was mom from there on. :D Milan is a warmblood, Fresian/TB/Appaloosa cross, with Secretariat's blood running thru his veins
for his dam is the great, great, granddaughter, so I quess that would make
Milan a great, great, great grandson? Anyway, he is two as of 5/1/08 and
takes after his sire with his blackness :D I am totally in love with him of
course! His flowing black mane and tail, and those feathers on his feet! :!:
I live with my sister and her husband in the city of Lima,Oh and I am not
married, divorced with two grown children, two rescued Dobermans and
one calico cat named after my mom. I am also disabled but determined
not to let my chronic pain stop me from living and being with my fur-kids :!: :!: Sorry for being so gabby but I just found
this site and since I am a rookie horse mom I really need all the friends
I can :!: So thanks everyone for letting me ramble. May God bless and
keep you all and your family too :!: :)

With Love and Belief,
Stablegirl

Hi, Stablegirl! It's nice to have someone new on the forum to talk with!

Your horse sounds gorgeous; can you post a photo? They post best if you size them before posting so they show well on a page (like 300 x 400 pixels) otherwise they stretch beyond the screen and can't view the whole picture at once.

I live in Iowa, my husband and I have one daughter and a new baby on the way...we own three horses and wish we had more time for riding (hard to do while pregnant!) We also have a black lab and a barnful of cats.

We just got back from visiting my parents in Idaho...they have a ranch and a bunch of horses. We helped them sort out some cows last week and I actually rode my old horse I grew up with. He is twenty this year, but you can't tell it by his energy level! I'm almost seven months pregnant, and tried to keep it to a walk or nice jog, but once in awhile when a cow tried to get past us my horse had to really move. It was fun.

Our horses here are nice, but need more training. I bought my mare Daisy as a project to train. Cricket is an old gray mare who is good for beginners. And then Milo we just started training last summer...he's almost four years old and a small few spot Appaloosa. We just ride for fun, not competitively.

What are your plans with Milan? Will you show him? Breed him? Train him? Post again, I'm anxious to hear back from you!

welcome to the forum stablegirl. don't be afraid to start a conversation or jump in on one that is going, there's no shortage of opinions around here, but everyone is very nice, so the discussions are usually pretty good.

nice to have you on board, i'll look forward to seeing lots of you. :)
