When your horses get their hooves trimmed, don't leave the trimmings lying around for your dogs to eat. The sharp edges can cause stomach problems, can lodge in the esophagus, or cause inflammation of the pancreas.

If your dog has eaten hoof trimmings recently, and shows signs of loss of appetite, abdominal pain, difficulty swallowing, vomiting, or panting excessively, call your vet.
