We have 2 dogs right now - a Great Pyrenees named Bear and a Dobermann named Lady. We had 4 at one point - a GSD named Orry (who unfortunately had to be put down due to bad hip displasia and old age about a week and a half ago) and a Husky named Moose - we had to give Moose to relatives who live on a big property as he had way too much energy for a city dog. Bear and Lady get walked twice a day and go in our spacious backyard when we're home - that wasn't enough activity for Moose so we gave him away in January.

Bear is 2 years old - I desperately wanted a dog but my mom didn't want one, really. My dad wanted one but figured we weren't home enough for it to be fair to get one. He grew up with dogs but we live in the city so a dog wasn't really on his "to-do" list. My aunt had a friend who bred Pyrs and there was one puppy he couldn't sell - she got him discounted and gave him to me for my birthday! Parents were pretty upset - they didn't want a HUGE dog in the house (especially a puppy!) but they fell in love with him and so he stays. Lady is another 'gift' from my Aunt... she loved the breed but already owned 3 miniature schnauzers. Lady didn't get along with her schnauzers (she nearly killed one at one point) and so she came to us. Lady just needs calm or she gets riled up which is why she didn't get along with the schnauzies. They're pretty well behaved and are awesome in basically every way!

Wow--what beautiful dogs you have! I really like Bear, he looks so huggable. Very good photos of both of them, thanks so much for sharing. Do they get along well together?

We talk about getting another puppy, but don't want it to torment our older dog. Maybe in a few years.

He is very huggable! His only downfall is that he sheds like CRAZY and he gets really hot really easily (and he drools like nothing I've ever seen) - he likes to sit on your lap but won't for more than 20 minutes because he overheats. In the summer he just sits in this wading pool we bought him. He absolutely loves people, but the thing I love about him is that he's a great guard dog but is good with people we want him to be good with - the breed can read body language of their handlers and so gets agitated when their handler does... when we have company and we're happy, he's happy. When we don't like the people he's very anxious. They're also very family protective - when I went away to Europe for a few weeks in '08 my parents said he moped. Dunno what he's going to do in a year when I go to university...

They get along really well together, mostly because they can play rough with each other which they both love - I like to wrestle with them but they can get really carried away and Bear is the same weight as I am.. it can get dangerous and overwhelming when they get really playful!

I hate that big dogs have such short lifespans... the average lifespan of a Pyr is like 9-10 years. :(

I wouldn't worry too much about the puppy harassing your older dog - if anything it helps the younger dog become more socialized and balanced and your older dog will tell the pup to get lost if he's being annoyed.
