My favourite breed? Gotta be a tie between Great Pyrenees and Dobermans. I currently own both... and they are exceptional. I love the Pyr's personality - he thinks he is a lapdog... 140 lb dog comes and sits on you while you're watching a movie. However he's got this huge monster coat so he can't be in the house all day - he gets too hot. He likes to chill in the garage (we renovated our garage so it's carpeted and comfortable) with our Husky. The only thing I'm not loving about our Pyr is the lifespan, he's already 3 years old so that leaves him on average with another 5, maybe 6 years left? Not a long lifespan at all. Then again, we already knew that about large breeds. Dobies are just awesome dogs. They're such babies to their families - and they're such amazing protectors! Whenever someone comes to the door it's just one low bark to warn them there is in fact a dog in the house. It's not an annoying yip yip yip like some dogs have. And then once she realizes that the person is a friend, they can be her best friend too. She's very cuddly, but whereas our Pyr can be too cuddly because he's too big and hairy to cuddle without you feeling smothered, she's like the perfect size to just lay in bed next to and hug. Our Husky is great too but he's just like this huge ball of energy who can never ever calm down and our GSD is an older guy (he's eight) so he's such a sweetie but he's a rescue so he can be kind of reserved... he will never be your best friend like the other three want to be. Oops, I rambled!
