A friend of mine has been trying to get her horse to take his right canter lead for some time now (over 1 year). Her husband is a good horseman and has trained several western pleasure horses for her. She has been quite competitive for several years with her WP horses. Anyway, they both struggled with one of their geldings, as he simply would not take his right lead. They have tried every trick in the book to get him to pick up that lead, but to no avail. In despiration my friend called Kevin Wescott, he met her in my barn yesterday and got the lead inside 5 minutes
. I saw it with my own eyes. This guy really does understand horses. If any of you need help with any aspect of your riding etc., e-mail him. His info. is somewhere on "liverystable". Personally, I don't let anyone ride my horses ('cept me and my daughters
), but I would trust Kevin with any of my horses.
Seriously, I am not a big promoter of clinicians, as I don't think it is possible to "can" a method, because each horse is so different, but Mr. Wescott is a rare horseman. If you need any help with any horse challenge...try this guy.
