I know this is new website, so I thought I would boost it along a bit (get the pun? :) )

The American Saddlebred horse is quite versatile. They are not the wild-eyed, crazy horses that some might think. They make nice Saddleseat horses, hunter pleasure horses, hunter/jumpers, dressage prospects and even western mounts.

They do have incredible stamina and a willingness to learn, but can be very sensative, so training them takes wisdom. They can learn almost anything in a short period of time, so be prepared to keep up with their intelligence :D . As one older trainer said on several occasions "dem saddlebreds is smart".

How many Morgan, Arabian, Morab or Warmblood owners view this site? Tell us who you are and why you like your chosen breed :) ?

Morgans are also really versatile horses. I knew nothing about them when I found my mare, but at the advice of a wise friend, decided to give the breed a try. Wow, I'm glad I did! Morgans will do just about anything: western pleasure, work cattle, reining, dressage, saddleseat, trail....etc. I ride mine huntseat. My mare is an easy keeper (ie; gets fat on AIR), intelligent, sensible, has great feet, teeth and a good coat. Morgans have a reputation for longevity. (As old as I was when I started riding, my Morgan may outlive ME!). I also realized the other day, that their reputation for having a tendancy to be "strong-willed" has some merit!

I'm also a HUGE fan of Saddlebreds for many of these same reasons.
When I think about it....I guess I love all breeds!! Let's hear from some more of you about your chosen breed! :D
