Okay, this is a hypothetical question because many of us don't have broodmares or plan to breed the mares we have. And let's pretend money isn't an issue, so we're just comparing horses and genetics, not stud fees. Describe your mare a little bit, or what you're breeding for, and then link to or post pics of the stallion you would choose to breed to.

If I were to breed my registered AQHA sorrel mare Daisy, I would probably breed to a buckskin stallion. I have looked at Perlino stallions and think they're so unattractive they couldn't possibly sire a good-looking foal!

I think this stallion is gorgeous, athletic, and bred to be a working cow horse:

Here's his website:

My very first question is, "what do you plan to do with the resulting foal"....AQHA has become so specialized that if you would rather stay with a foundation body type then of course, stick with foundation bloodlines. My personal preference is the body type found with our working cow horses/reiners...a little longer muscled and not so bulked up. Lets these horses "turn around". I love the Doc Bars crossed on King Fritz get. I have a double bred Doc Bar at present....Doc's Hickory/Doc Tom Tucker gelding.

A favorite of mine, "Matt Dillion Dun It"...who has won the Reining world show and the Working Cow Horse world event. Ridden by Todd Crawford.

Another......Chic Please, ridden by Todd Bergen.
