Yero is a strong, gentle, broke mule. Has been trained and ridden on a working cattle ranch. No vices, does not kick, bite, pull back, rear, or buck. He's calm, quiet, very smart, does not get rattled easily, very good to handle. Once he gets to know you, he really trusts you. Has been ridden extensively in the mountains, on cattle drives, and around county roads. Excellent in the mountains, can go right up steep hills or banks and bring you safely down areas only mountain goats should attempt. Very smooth gaits, content to go your speed, either walk, trot, or lope. He's nine years old. They say a mule doesn't get good until he's 20, and then usually lives to be 35, so he's got a long ways to go! They also say that mules never founder, that they are smart enough to stop eating before they make themselves sick, but our extremely high protein content in the grazing out here in Idaho has rendered this mule sore footed for awhile. We have put him on strict rations to reduce the protien he is getting, and that has helped him a lot, he's been sound and ridden since.
