Description
Daisy is a well-built, gentle, beautiful mare. Foaled in 2000, she has never had a colt, but has excellent bloodlines and would make a great broodmare if you didn't want to ride her. Her sire's great grandsire was Three Bars, and her dam's great great grandsire was Poco Bueno. She has really nice conformation and would give a lot of athleticism to her foals.
She is easy to catch, affectionate, and very gentle to handle. I bought her as a four year old and trained her myself, she is really athletic and had some buck in her. She has not bucked with a rider in several years, but has been ridden primarily by myself, and seems to dislike men (she stiffens up if and gets cranky around them). She is very responsive under saddle for basic trail riding, but does evidence some buddy-sourness around our farm with the other horses. Still direct reins, but I ride her in a shanked snaffle bit and she is starting to learn neck reining. I trim her feet myself, she is good on the front but very heavy on the back (leans on the farrier), but with some grain we get the job done. Just putting all of her faults out there because I want to sell her to someone who can get along with her as well as I do.
She has been ridden by my four year old daughter on lead line and was PERFECT. She is not a spooky horse, will go through any mud or trail you ask of her. I have used her on cows a couple of times, but she just hasn't had the experience necessary to make her good at it yet.
She is current on worming and will get vaccinations this spring, she has exceptional health, 100% sound. Very athletic, quick, has great performance potential. She would excel the most as a good trail horse, as that is what I have used her for, but she would also be a good broodmare, or learn anything you'd like to teach her. She has the athleticism to make a good ranch, cutting, western pleasure, or trail horse. She is suitable for a confident intermediate rider to experienced rider, preferably female.
Please call me or email if you have any questions. Open to all offers, we just want a good home for this mare. I would keep her, but I found a horse I really want to buy and need to make room before I can buy another. Call 712-767-2269 for more details. I'll answer any and all questions to the best of my ability, and am open to offers.
